ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS (EMS)
IT CONSIST OF A WIDE RANGE OF ELECTRONIC AND ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS
SENSORS
RELAYS
ACTUATORS
AND ENGINE CONTROL UNITS SUCH AS
ECU
OR ECM ENGINE CONTROL MODULE
THIS UNIT PLAYS A VITAL ROLE IN COLLECTING, PROCESSING, AND USING THE DATA IT RECIVES FROM ALL THOSE RELATED SENSORS AND OTHER MOUDELS.WE CAN CALL IT THE BRAIN OF THE ENGINE
SENSORS INCLUDES THE IAT engine air temperature MAF mas air flow sensor MAP manifold absolute pressure CPS crankshaft position sensor O2S tells how much oxygen in the engine which is critical for engine performance KNOCK SENSOR (detonation) TPS throttle position sensor.
CTS coolant temperature sensor.
The PCM/ECM waits on all those inputs in other to supply the right amount of fuel to the engine injectors based on the amount of air intake (air fuel ratio 14.7:1) and how long it would keep them open (duty cycle)
